I was a little dubious about going to Club Balai Isabel after reading some bad reviews about the poorly maintained rooms, stinky toilets and the crawling/flying insects all over the place. I had already paid for the reservation fee so off we went to check out the place. We were lucky to have a clean and tidy room furnished with a TV, small refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle and AC. Complimentary bottled water and coffee were provided. We paid Php 8,217 for an overnight stay inclusive of breakfast. I liked our room but overall, I was a bit disappointed with our stay as the resort did not meet my expectations. The food quality was not great. I ordered Halo halo in coconut shell and it was watery. I thought it was halo-halo juice. lol! Our main purpose was to check out the Mobideep ( floating pools) but I got frustrated upon seeing it. I thought it would look really nice like in the picture posted on their website but I was totally wrong. The guard told us the mobideep was destroyed by typhoon Ondoy and it has just been rebuilt. It is supposed to be a cluster of linked floating pools but there are only 2 at the moment. They were charging us Php250/ pax in order for us to use the mobideep. We just opted to go swimming into their not so infinity pool. The floating pools only look good in the pics I took but in an up close view, the mobideep looks so so. Sorry to say but I was not impressed. But what I loved about the place were the lush greenery and the stunning view of Taal Lake and volcano. Anyway, I had fun photographing my little niece Ykaie which I will post next time.
