I got this recipe in an email forward from a friend last year. I had the chance to try this the other day. This is a good recipe to make an easy and quick chocolate cake. It’s a quick treat you can whip up in the microwave in about 3 minutes. It tasted pretty ok. Better eaten warm coz it becomes ultra dense once it cooled off.
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil ( I used canola oil)
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
It spilled out of the mug first time I tried. It was a mess! lol! I had to watch the second one and stop once the cake rose over the top. I should have used a bigger mug.
I just drizzled some chocolate syrup since I didn’t have chocolate chips on hand. I think adding chocolate chips will make it tastier. It’s not the same as real baked cake, but it still makes a chocolate snack of some sort. Maybe if I added baking powder the texture will be more cakey and makes it fluffier. My nieces enjoyed eating them.
